Yoshifumi Ishikawa joined Canon Inc. in 1984, where he gained valuable, hands-on experience in the field of camera design, including the design of the EOS-1v. In 1998, he transferred to Canon USA as senior business planner, where he pioneered web businesses and other new ventures. After returning to Japan, he first served as an advanced UI design manager, after which he was promoted to head of the Interface Design department.

In 2012, he became the Senior General Manager of the Canon Design Center. Along with outlining new product design and maintaining Canon’s corporate design identity, he strongly advocates for the role of design within the company and touches on initial proposals of business themes and activities to map out future visions.
