Christoph Böninger


Christoph Boeninger studied industrial design in Munich, Germany and at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. For his degree he designed the world’s first laptop in 1982, which is displayed today at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. In 1987 he moved to New York to start a designteam for Siemens USA. Since then he held various leading positions as design director and managing director at Siemens.

In 2007 he published the award-winning book form:ethics and in 2010 he started the furniture manufacturer AUERBERG. In 2014 he was appointed as board-member of the College of Art and Design School Burg Giebichenstein, Germany and in 2018 he was elected as Chair of the iF Design Foundation.
