AKIHIRO NAGAYA

Born in Nagoya City, Japan in 1960, Nagaya graduated from Aichi University of the Arts in ’83 and joined Toyota Motor Corporation in the same year.

Was in charge of design for various cars, including the first generation Lexus LS400, Celsior, and Toyota Mark II.

Earned an MBA at Berkley University in 2003. Became Lexus Brand Planning General Manager in ’03 and led the Global Lexus Brand.

Became Toyota Design General Manager in 2010 and supervised product design development for all Toyota automobiles. President of Techno Art Research in ’12.

Assumed the post of Chief General Manager, Design Center, Yamaha Motor in 2014. Executive Officer of Yamaha Motor since 2015.
